Meet Josh!

I got started in the entertainment world early in my childhood:
As a child I was a pseudo-roadie. My father was a public school band teacher for 40 years who also had his very own premier ten piece band with four vocalists named Night Society Orchestra & The Uptown Review. Traveling around the midwest in my younger years, helping set up and run performances at venues such as the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit to the Grand Traverse Resort and Grand Hotel in Northern Michigan, I learned what it takes to create an extremely professional organization, connect with an audience, and deliver a high caliber performance.

Performing Background:
As a trumpet player and drummer I have played in various music groups. I have performed on stage in bands for weddings, festivals, private and corporate parties, and nightclubs. I have played in blues, funk and rock bands. I have played in orchestras and concert bands. I have played in elegant brass quintets for wedding ceremonies and in 20 person percussion ensembles delivering thunderous performances. One of the most special ways I continue to perform is playing Taps on my trumpet for funerals of military service personnel.

Putting on an event:
In addition to being a musician. I started DJ'ing In college when I was a Resident Advisor. While most people would expect the RA to be the one busting up a party. My floor was different. I would clear the furniture out of my dorm room, set up my DJ equipment, and host my own dance parties to room capacity crowds. In between band gigs, I began DJ'ing for various events around my community and have continued for the last 25 years, DJ'ing many weddings and other various events around the state of Michigan.

I am in my 16th year as a public school teacher. However, prior to becoming a middle school special education teacher, I spent 15 years as a performing arts center manager for school districts around Michigan that have seating capacity for audiences as little as 600 to as large as 1,000. In this position, I coordinated all aspects of the performing arts center for over 200 school district and community events a year, including concerts, plays & musicals, dance recitals & talent shows, awards ceremonies & graduations, and celebrations of life & memorials. I've even had the honor of coordinating three surprise marriage proposals on the stage. I handled everything from the calendar & scheduling, to lighting, sound & scenery design to collaboration with the many other personnel involved in producing multi-faceted standing ovation performances.

Collaboration & Communication:
In order to put on a spectacular event, smooth professional collaboration and communication is key! Throughout my lifetime of performing, planning, and delivering high caliber professional events, I foster smooth collaboration with
school administrators, parent organizations, sports & arts booster clubs, directors, choreographers, brides, grooms, photographers, videographers, caterers, florists, and other venue personnel. I add high energy & excitement to weddings and school communities as a dynamic presenter, motivational speaker, MC for assemblies, announcer for athletic events, programmer/editor of music to be used during various school functions and DJ / MC for many weddings and school dances and parties.

All of my life experiences make me a great choice to help you create a 1st class, fun, and memorable event for you and your guests.
